About

In 2003 Salt Creek Associates began helping people resolve the conflicts in their families, workplaces and churches.

Mediation
We began with mediation often specializing in family conflicts such as child custody, child support and marriage dissolution.   This is important work and we continue it today, but we learned something along the way. We learned that much of conflict is rooted in unmet needs, expectations and desires.   We call this stress.

Conflict
We found that by addressing, reducing and eliminating stress that the conflicts were much more likely to resolve.   Less stress meant less conflict. We also learned that some people are very attracted to conflict and that they at the same time experience a great deal of stress.  Sadly, they are generally unable to manage their stress or resolve their conflicts effectively.   They engage in conflict repeatedly.  They don't know another way.    Almost 20% of the populations has significant traits of high conflict people.   They account for more than 70% of significant, destructive conflicts.  They account for most litigation.  They account for most false accusations and acts of perjury.   Any effective conflict resolution must account for high conflict people.
